At the studio
From fleece to yarn
In Lavaltrie, we prepare, card and spin Québec wool.

The fleece
Fleeces are chosen with the farms, then skirted: belly, britch and vegetable matter come off before any processing.

Carding
The carding machine opens and aligns the fibres into a light batt or roving, ready to spin.

Spinning
The yarn is spun in one, two or three plies, then hand-dyed or left in the fleece's own colour.

Two makers, one material.
Makeloo Studio was founded in 2017 on Île Dupas, in Lanaudière. The studio and shop are now in Lavaltrie.
